Windows Live OneCare?

Hi,
Anyone tryed installing Win Live OneCare, which I actually for XP i think, but I'm looking for anti-virus for Vista seens MS only include a Firewall atm lol.
cheers,

No, Windows Live Onecare is not supported, supported should be available sometime after Vista RTMs.
Vista AntiVirus Partners: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/viruses/wsc/en-us/windowsvistabeta2.mspx need Antivirus software, are there any out there for Windows Vista BETA 2? You are in luck, here are few recommended choices: Computer Associates eTrust http://www.my-etrust.com/Microsoft/vista/default.aspx here are 2 others:
Avast 4.7 32-bit http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Trend Micro https://www.trendbeta.com/index.php?get=80 run "Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON" from an elevated command prompt on Vista x64 (Thanks Barb Bowman for the tip) -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Marc Nutty" wrote in message

While yammering about how hard they are trying to get driver support for Vista, MSFT hasn't been able to get WOC Live team to get it compatible with Vista in a year. Many AV apps are compatible with Vista and you should be able to find them by searching this group.

Andre, Do you know for sure that OneCare will indeed be Vista compatible at some point? I had heard that it would never be because most of it's components are already included in Vista. I hope what I heard is not true because I really like OneCare and the fact that it is all in one nice little package so to speak. dotcom

In Chats, the teams associated with WOC and Defender have repeatedly said it will be compatible.
On their blog the WOC Live team has repeatedly said it will be compatible
They have not agreed though to stop dragging their ass in making it compatible.

It's a good deal--just for the backup feature alone at the price with 3 licenses. The fact it's still not compatible with Vista after a year is inexcusable but typical.

Chad: I think part of the problem is trying to make it x64 compatible because Vista will have x86 & x64 versions.

They've told us Windows One Care will eventually be supported on Vista. No date, though.

You may well be right. X64 has presented compatibility problems that are far ranging for apps and drivers, but they will be well worth what comes in its wake in the next few years.
